Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef steak cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup pork panko or crushed pork rinds
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix the Breading: In a medium bowl, combine the pork panko, parmesan cheese, and salt.
  • Prepare the Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a separate bowl.
  • Coat the Steak: Dip each steak chunk into the egg, then roll it in the breading mixture. Place coated pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet or tray.
  • Freeze: Transfer the tray to the freezer and chill for 30 minutes. This helps the coating stick better and fry up crisp.
  • Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 325°F (165°C).
  • Fry the Nuggets: Fry the steak nuggets in batches for 2–3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain and Serve: Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle with extra salt and garnish with parsley, if desired. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Best Cuts of Steak: Sirloin, ribeye, or any tender cut works best.
  • Pork Panko Substitute: You can use finely crushed pork rinds or breadcrumbs, though the texture will be slightly different.
  • Make Ahead: Bread the nuggets and freeze them in advance—just fry when ready to serve.
