Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9 baking pan and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cake mix, egg, water, and oil.
Add in food coloring and whisk until well incorporated.
Pour cake batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-35 minutes.
While cake bakes set out your cream cheese so it can warm up.
Let the cake cool for 15-20 min.
Crumble cake into a large bowl and add cream cheese.
Beat with a mixer until cream cheese is well incorporated and a dough texture has formed.
Shape dough into 1 in balls, and then shape balls into hearts.
Melt your pink candy melts per package instructions.
Dip each heart into pink candy melts and set on parchment paper.
Place a few red and white candy melts into sandwich bags and melt in the microwave, squishing the bag to get all the chunks melted.
Cut a tiny piece of the corner off the baggie and drizzle red and white on the corner of each covered heart.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
